SAPERAVI – I have been a BIG fan of Saperavi since I first tasted this deep, dark, big wine a few years ago. I wrote about it for WBM (June 2012) and have been keeping an eye on its progress in Australia. The variety is native to Georgia (formerly part of the USSR) where it has been grown for thousands of years. Winemaking in Georgia has been traced back to 8000 years ago. Read More...
