EFFERVESCENT TASMANIA - PART 2

Thanks to Wine Tasmania and WBM Magazine, I spent three sensational days in Tasmania in early November tasting wines at the “Effervescence Tasmania” event – mainly their superb Sparkling wines, but also some cracker cool-climate wines as well. There are 15 Sparkling winemakers in Tassie, all of whom use the “methode tradicionale” to make their Sparkling wines. That is, there are no “gassed-up-with-CO2” sparkling wines on the island, unlike on the mainland where there are plenty of them. As described in my Blog a couple of weeks ago, the event kicked off with an amazing Asian dinner during which we tasted five premium Champagnes alongside five top Tasmanian Sparkling wines.
