What is the purpose of Wine Shows? Originally it was a system of peer review so that winemakers could improve the quality of their wines through input from the peers & colleagues. Over the last 30-40 years they have become a significant marketing tool in selling wine. The more medals won the more wine sold. In the process the wine shows have become a guide for consumers as to the quality of the wine. However one must ask if this is really the case, or merely an illusion? Read More...
